Bilingual education and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) are core of our education. Each year we choose topics, which we integrate in our education. The topics vary per group and form a complete learning curve, with which we work to achieve the core goals for every group.
Vaste structuur
De thema's van IPC noemen we units. Elke unit heeft een vaste structuur. Altijd neemt het leren de centrale plek in. Om kinderen te enthousiastmeren voor een unit wordt die geopend met een startpunt en eindigt met het vieren van wat we hebben geleerd door een afsluiting. Na elke start is er een kennisoogst waarin we inventariseren wat we al weten, wat we denken te weten en wat we nog willen weten. Vervolgens is er daarbij aansluitend aandacht voor wat we gaan leren en doen. Daarna volgen de lessen die vakoverstijgend zijn. Dat betekent dat natuur, aardrijkskunde, techniek, internationaal, geschiedenis, taal NL-EN elkaar aanvullen en afwisselen als onderdeel van het leerproces.
School cross curricular
With each topic we make compliant language activities for the English and the Dutch language. By making the assignments children learn for example how to use computer programmes such as Word or PowerPoint. In group 4/5/6 we learned about the topic: The active planet. We read a text about the earthquake in Nepal of 2015. By using the information they collected, the children were able to draw up a newsflash and record it.
